UK Island Breaks - Isle Of Wight
You don't need to go to the Caribbean or Greece to enjoy beautiful islands – it's possible to have a fantastic island holiday without leaving the British Isles.
Isle Of Wight
Show up for: Cowes Week in July/August is one of the key dates in the international sailing calendar. It's been going since 1826, and attracts both world class sailors and the elite that come to watch.
Do: Largely flat, and with a 62km cycleway, the Isle of Wight is ideal for cyclists, and there are plenty of bike hire shops on the island for those not bringing their own.
Getting there: Ferries are available from Portsmouth, Southsea and Southampton.
