Oslo has warm summers and manageable (though decidedly dark) winters. Summer temperatures average around 20°C (68°F) in June and July, though it can get as high as 30°C (86°F). Oslo is a long way from the northern edge of Norway, where the summer sun does not set at all, but summer nights in the capital don't ever get truly dark. Winter, however, is a different story. The sun shines weakly and the city remains shrouded in a perpetual dusk until the seasons change. Winter lows are in the negatives from November to March. Rain falls across the year, but is by no means heavy. April and May have the lowest averages.
