Reykjavík is a mostly hassle-free destination, although guests of inner-city hotels with an aversion to carousing may find Friday and Saturday nights a tad difficult to cope with. Every Friday and Saturday night, Reykjavík becomes the setting for the famous runtur - the great Icelandic pub crawl. It begins at around 23:00 and continues all night. Some visitors may find the atmosphere intimidating, but it's mostly good-natured fun and things rarely get aggressive.
