nairobi

Nairobi is a spirited city with a hint of danger.

Kenya's capital is cosmopolitan, lively, interesting and pleasantly landscaped. Its central business district is handily compact and it's a great place to tune into modern urban African life. Unfortunately, it's also a great place to get mugged. Security, especially at night... Read the overview

Climate

Overview

Perched at just under 6000ft (1820m), Nairobi enjoys a fairly moderate climate; the altitude makes for some chilly evenings but it is never too cold. The sunniest part of the year is from December to March, when temperatures hover around the mid-twenties (mid seventies Fahrenheit) during the day. There are two rainy seasons but rainfall is only moderate. The cloudiest part of the year is just after the first rainy season, when, until September, conditions are usually overcast with drizzle.
