Iguazu Falls, Argentina/Brazil
One of the most spectacular waterfalls in the world, the awesome Iguazu Falls span 2.7km of the Iguazu river and enchant all who visit. The most impressive of the 300 or so falls, The Devil's Throat, a U-shaped 700m-long cliff, marks the border between Argentina and Brazil.

Annual visitors: Over 1.5 million

Fast fact: The name of the waterfall is derived from the Guarani Indian language meaning 'great water'.

Getting there: As the falls are located on the Argentina/Brazil border and only a few miles away from Paraguay, each country has a local airport and a nearby city from where you can explore the site, these being Puerto Iguazu (Argentina), Foz do Iguassu (Brazil). and Ciudad del Este (Paraguay).
