Paranormal travel - the Nazca Lines, Peru
Got your wooden stake? Crucifix? Garlic? Good, we're going to the Peruvian desert, the Australian outback and, erm, Wiltshire, in search of the supernatural...
The Nazca Lines, Peru
Vibe: Peru's Nazca Lines, etched into an eerie desert plain south of Lima, remain one of the world's great mysteries, having baffled experts for eons.
What to see: A humming bird, a spider, a whale, a dog and a monkey, as well as geometric patterns and eight hundred straight lines. You can charter a plane to for a breathtaking tour of the Lines and their surroundings.
Strange but true: There are many wild theories associated with the Lines, but Anthropologist Erich Von Danikien's is probably the most bizarre. In his best-seller, Chariots of the Gods, the Dutch anthropologist claimed the Lines were a landing-pad for Extra-Terrestrial spacecraft. Hmmm.
