In the 1700s whalers would keep a wooden barrel here to act as a post office for any letters between Europe and the United States. The 'post office' is still there today. Pink flamingos are in abundance in, believe it or not, Flamingo Bay, while Comorant Point is a great spot to view beaching sea-turtles.
