Somerset, Devon and Cornwall

The West Country is a children’s playground with sandy beaches to play on, surf to ride and fascinating rock pools, castles and caves to explore.

Learn to ride the waves at a fashionable Newquay, ride a pony on Dartmoor or Exmoor (not the wild ones), go fishing in Mevagissey or explore the pretty harbours of Mousehole, Mullion Cove, Polperro and Boscastle.

Enjoy a family day out at Wookey Hole caves. Wander through the prehistoric Valley of Dinosaurs with its life-size Tyrannosaurus Rex or join fairies, dragons and elves in the Enchanted Fairy Garden.

The Eden Project's micro-climatic greenhouses will keep kids of all ages amused, as will Land's End and King Arthur's Tintagel.
