Brits abroad - Top 10 countries - No. 10 - The Netherlands

Armed with the latest stats from ABTA (Association of British Travel Agents), AOL has been studying the habits of that most curious of nomadic species, the British tourist. Here's a rundown of the top ten British holiday destinations.

10th: The Netherlands

Why: Amsterdam, Europe's most liberal city, is a big draw for British week-enders.
What we like: The historic port, Van Gogh's paintings and the Diamond Museum, where you can see diamonds being cut and polished. The 17th century canals, or 'grachtengordel', best explored on a lazy barge ride.
What we love: De Wallen, the medieval part of town- a den of vice and hedonism, but riotously fun- and home to the majority of Amsterdam's coffee shops. In all, there are over 240 in the city.
Number of Brits: Over a million per year

Poll: Tell us where you're planning to go to on your summer holiday in 2009
