A new restaurant in Sydney is to remove its quirky urinals shaped like women's mouths after a string of complaints.
The Ananas Bar and Brasserie, an upmarket French restaurant in the Rocks district, described the urinals as "playful", adding that they are "a commonly used European design piece from female Dutch artist Meike van Schijnde", according to The Daily Telegraph.
However, a spokesman added: "We sincerely apologise if they have caused offence. They are being removed today."
Feminist critics described them as offensive and misogynistic, with Australian feminist publisher and commentator Anne Summer saying the toilets were "asking men to put their d---- in these mouths as urinals".
