The moment a lifeguard saved a young boy after he became caught in a rip-tide in Devon has been caught on (surfboard) camera.

The boy was dragged into a dangerous current while learning to surf at Croyde Beach on Wednesday this week, according to the Telegraph.

The video shows James Vallance saving the unnamed youth with the help of his lifeboard.

The boy, who is being battered by big waves, eventually manages to hang on to the board while he's dragged to safety.
