Bus driver walks out mid-shift after winning EuroMillions
Getting a bus in Corby yesterday was apparently something of a mission - after a group of drivers won £38 million on a EuroMillions syndicate.
One driver even walked out halfway through a shift after learning the news.
According to The Sun, one resident tweeted: "Some didn't turn up for work and one walked off a bus LOL."
Another posted: "The whole town is talking about it. Try getting a bus in Corby today! Lol."
A dozen StageCoach drivers scooped the huge win, and syndicate leader Dave Mead reportedly threw a party for his colleagues after checking the numbers online.
Each of the 12 drivers will pocket around £3.1 million each.
Locals said that some of the drivers rang the Stagecoach depot in Corby, Northants, to ask for the day off, and one fellow driver told The Sun: "You won't find any of them at work today, that's for sure. It will be interesting to see if any of them ever come back."
