The shocking moment a little girl of three went flying off a fairground ride in America has unwittingly been caught on camera.
The child is shown being flung through the air after falling out of the Techno Jump carnival ride at the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo in Texas. SCROLL DOWN TO SEE THE VIDEO
Unbelievably, the unnamed girl escaped with bruising to her face and concussion.
It is thought she flew out at a height of between six and eight feet, around 25 seconds into the ride. The incident was caught on film by another parent who was filming their child on the ride when it happened.
According to the Daily Mail, Chief Operating Officer Leroy Shafer said: "It's a very scary-looking piece of video. We are just thankful that this young lady was not more injured.
"It boils down to a three-year-old not knowing what to do and was probably scared to death."
The little girl reportedly originally got on the ride with her mother and brother, but the mum got off because she thought she was too big, and left the girl with the eight-year-old boy.
Officials at the park originally claimed she had tried to climb out of the ride to get back to her mother - but that was before they saw the video.
According to the Houston Chronicle, each Techno Jump car has three seats with separate lap belts and a restraining bar that comes down over the trio of riders.
It is unclear whether she slipped from under both restraints before flying loose or if she had already wiggled from under the woven belt.
Officials have said the video proves there is a need for better ride regulations at these carnivals, and the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo has now changed the rule so that anyone between 42 and 48 inches tall must be accompanied by an adult.
