The Ramat Gan Safari Park is officially known as the Zoological Centre of Tel Aviv-Ramit Gan, and opened to the public in 1974.
It covers 250 acres and has 1,600 animals and the largest collection of species in the Middle East.
Many of the animals are allowed to roam free in the park, and include African and Asian elephants, hippos, gorillas, orang-utan, lions, and, of course, giraffes.
