Safari park celebrates birth of two-day-old giraffe

Born on 13 November at the Ramat Gan Safari Park, in Ramat Gan, Dikla, near Tel Aviv, Israel, the newborn Reticulated Giraffe, or Somali Giraffe, male calf weighed between 50-60kg and stood at a height of 180cm.

The Ramat Gan Safari Park is officially known as the Zoological Centre of Tel Aviv-Ramit Gan, and opened to the public in 1974.

It covers 250 acres and has 1,600 animals and the largest collection of species in the Middle East.
Many of the animals are allowed to roam free in the park, and include African and Asian elephants, hippos, gorillas, orang-utan, lions, and, of course, giraffes.
