Pink Floyd star ordered to demolish Brighton beach hut

Pink Floyd star David Gilmour has been ordered to pull down a beach hut on the driveway of his £3 million seafront mansion - or face prosecution.
The rock legend, whose son, Charlie, is serving a 16-month jail sentence for a rampage during student riots in London, uses the bright yellow hut to store bicycles at his Grade II listed home in Hove, East Sussex.
Despite his wife, the writer and journalist Polly Samson, appealing against the decision, the council said the garish construction was an eyesore and must be demolished.
A Brighton and Hove city council spokesman said: 'As the planning appeal has failed we've told the owners the hut must be gone by 1 October.'
