- Best for... city lovers<p> The Fox & Anchor in chic Clerkenwell, London. Renovated, restored and now returned to its former glory, this Victorian pub is faithful to its English origins and has been pulling pints for the workers of Smithfield market, which sits opposite the building, for more than 100 years.
